Abstract

We describe the software components of the MEGARA Observing Program Management System (OPMS). MEGARA (Multi-Espectrógrafo en GTC de Alta Resolución para Astronomía) is a wide-field optical Integral-Field Unit (IFU) for the GTC, based on ~4700 optical fibers, covering a 1.2x1.2 arcmin^2 field-of-view. A total of 94 additional mini-bundles with 7 fibers each will be positioned by robotic actuators in a region of 3.5x3.5 arcmin^2 in size around the central IFU. The MEGARA OPMS shall provide the user with the tools needed to create, modify, and submit an observing program and to assist observers to plan their observations in an optimum way. It includes the MEGARA Exposure Time Calculator, the MEGARA image Simulator, the Phase-II Preparing tool, and the Actuators Positioner tool.
