Rotation periods and chemical composition of solar analogs and twins revealed by the CoRoT mission: Follow-up status and periods determinations

Abstract


The question whether the Sun is peculiar has been the subject of active investigation over the past decades, but no studies have been focused on the true stellar rotation period (Prot). On the basis of CoRoT light curves, we carry out an unprecedented study of Prot for solar-type stars. Our high quality Subaru HDS spectra for the 6700 A region and Halpha region at 6562 A offer an unique opportunity to characterize solar twins candidates based on the precisely spectroscopic differential analysis. On this poster we present the first results from our short-term program that used the high signal to noise ratio and high resolution HDS spectroscopy of 65 solar analogs and twins candidates previously selected from 60,000 dwarf stars observed by the space borne telescope COROT (Convection, Rotation and planetary Transits). This program carry out an abundance analyses of these objects which have estimated masses of 0.98 - 1.1 solar masses and 5 Our first observational results have important implications for the investigation of the rotation influence on the Li abundance scattering despite the similarities of these objects. Furthermore, this sample of solar analogs with true stellar rotation measurements together with high accuracy abundances represents an important dataset for stellar evolution science.
