The evolution of magnetic fields in OB-type stars from the study
Abstract
Massive stars drive the evolution of galaxies through their photons, winds, and
violent deaths, from the era of re-ionization until today.
To date, however, only a small number of O, early B-type, and Wolf-Rayet
stars have been investigated for magnetic fields, and as a result, only about
a dozen magnetic early B-type stars and only a few magnetic O stars are known.
In our poster, we will report on our recent study of magnetic fields in O and early B-type stars in clusters at different ages, which was undertaken to constrain magnetic field evolution and the conditions, which enable the presence of magnetic fields in massive stars.
