Abstract

We report on the detection of PAH and C$_{60}$ carbonaceous molecules in the infrared spectra of binary post-AGB stars. These binary post-AGB sources are characterised by the presence of a stable oxygen-rich dust disc, with strong features of amorphous and crystalline silicates. Emission of PAHs is already observed in a few post-AGB sources, but it is the first time fullerenes are detected in these sources. There is evidence that the central stars are oxygen rich, which would make the detection of carbonaceous molecules even more surprising.
