High Energy Spectral behavior of the border line blazar : 3C 273
Abstract
Blazars are characterized by extremely high optical variability, strong and variable polarization and very rapid flux variability over the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio to very high energetic gamma-rays. These extragalactic objects are sub-divided into BL Lacs and FSRQs depending on optical emission line properties. We have undertaken the study of well known FSRQ 3C 273 with data available from XMM-Newton telescope. XMM-Newton observed the blazar for a time period more than one decade, from June of 2000 to July, 2013 by XMM-Newton in both optical/UV and X-ray bands. X-ray spectra of this source shows excess emission in lower energy band. Fitting of the X-ray spectra of this source is difficult with conventional simple power law used for typical FSRQs. So we use a different approach for spectral fitting in the energy range 0.3-10 keV and try to explain the hidden physical conditions.
