Pablo Jáuregui

Pablo Jáuregui has a Degree in Philosophy, a Master’s Degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford and a Doctorate in Political and Social Sciences from the European University of Florence.

He started his career as a journalist in 1995 as science correspondent of El Mundo, and in 2002 was named Editor in Chief of the newly created science section of that newspaper, which was the first section of a Spanish newspaper dedicated entirely to science information.

From 2007 he has also been in charge of the digital science section on the website of El Mundo, www.elmundo.es, which is the most visited site on general science information in Spanish .


In 2008 he won the Prismas Prize for the Best Article of the Year in a Newspaper, the most prestigious prize for science journalism in Spain, for his article A Big Bang 100 metres below ground.

Between 2010 and 2011 he was also in charge of the Sunday Science suplement Eureka in El Mundo. In 2015 he won the Concha García Campoy Prize for science journalism, in the category of the press in print.

At the present time he is also a Lecturer on the Master’s courses on Science Communication at the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, and at the National University at a Distance (UNED).
