Pedro Gómez

 

Prof Pedro Gómez-Romero (BSc and MSc Universidad de Valencia, Spain. PhD in Chemistry, Georgetown University, USA, 1987, with Distinction) is CSIC Researcher since 1990, first at ICMAB (1990-2007) and later as CSIC Full Research Professor (2006-) and Group Leader of NEO-Energy lab at CIN2 (CSIC) (2007-2013), now part of ICN2. He enjoyed a Sabbatical as NATO Senior Research Fellow at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (Golden, CO, USA, 1998-99).

Prof Gómez-Romero directs projects on hybrid organic-inorganic nanostructures and nanocomposite materials for energy storage and conversion (lithium batteries, supercapacitors, PEM FCs, solar-thermal energy, nanofluids, graphene).

He is author of 102 scientific publications in refereed international journals. He also was scientific editor of the book “Functional Hybrid Materials” P. Gómez-Romero, C. Sánchez (Eds.) (Wiley-VCH 2004) and author of two award-winning popular science books (Metaevolución. La Tierra en el espejo, Celeste, 2001 and Un planeta en busca de energía, Síntesis, 2007. Prof Gómez-Romero is also Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Vicedirector of MATGAS ( 2010-2014).
