María Lapetra Costa
María Lapetra was born in Huesca in 1976. She has a degree in Laws from ESADE and has a Master’s degree in Corporate Communicatin from EAE. She began her professional career in large industrial groups in Tyco Electronics, in the field of labour law and personnel management. She then moved to the world of corporate communication, staring in Cognis, a spin-off from the Henkel group, with headquarters in Manheim, Germany. There her main theme was the production of ingredients and specialized chemicals with clear aims towards sustainability, understanding the client, and spreading information about the presence of the chemical in daily life. She was involved in communication activities ranging from internal and external communication to impulsing cooperation at local level, to co-creation of communication concepts such as Feeloshophy of Newtrition, for Cognis.
When Cognis was taken over by BASF she joined the department of communications and institutional relations for Spain, involving communication (“site relations”) for several centres, and reporting directly to the person in charge of communication at the Business Centre of Southern Europe. During 2015 she is collaborating at local level in the programme of co-creation and celebration of the 150th anniversary of the company, with the name of Creator Space. The approach is the connection between people, ideas, and materials to facilitate solutions to improve our lives and help to resolve the major challenges to society in the areas of food, urban life, and intelligent energy. Creator Space, of BSF has the aim of expanding the network of people within the scientific ambit, the company, and society in general, using a wide range of activities and channels, both virtual and presential, to improve our understanding of these challenges, and to find joint solutions.
