Semiclassical quantization of pulsation modes in rapidly rotating stars
Abstract
Asteroseismology aims at inferring the internal structure of stars by the observation of their oscillation frequencies. But to date our poor understanding of the complex dynamics of acoustic waves in rapidly rotating stars has hindered the interpretation of their spectra. We show how wave chaos and semiclassical techniques allow to understand the specific features of these spectra.
