On the Dependence of Magnetic Line Ratios on Time and Spatial Scales
Abstract
Comparison of magnetic fields measurements made in different spectral lines is an important tool for diagnostics of magnetohydrodynamic conditions in solar atmosphere. At present time there are some results concerning the dependence of magnetic strength ratios (MSR) for several cases on filling factor, amount of flux, or center-to-limb angle. But there is a deficit of information about MSR properties as a function of detailed position on solar disk, spatial resolution and time. The objective of this study is to present the distributions of MSR across solar disk for numerous combinations of spectral lines, to explore the dependence of MSR on time (on activity cycle, particularly), and to investigate the dependence of results on the spatial resolution of observations. The measurements from different observatories are used.
