Hotel Information

The conference will be held in the 4-star Hotel Playa de la Arena, in the South of Tenerife, where we have negotiated a block booking at special rates. These rates are given to us assuming that all participants stay at the hotel, so you cannot attend the conference and stay somewhere else (for instance, in another hotel you bought as part of a package deal).

This magnificent 4 star hotel was opened in April 2000 and is located on the incomparable setting of the Santiago del Teide coast, right opposite a charming black sand beach “Playa la Arena”, with the amazing Los Gigantes cliffs in the background rising some 1600 ft from the ocean. It offers spectacular views over the sea and the island of La Gomera.

Room facilities: Full bathroom, balcony, air conditioning, telephone, piped music, mini bar, satellite TV, individual safe and a hair dryer in the bathroom.

Hotel Services: The hotel has an impressive marble entrance hall, decorated with a large number of plants. There are spacious lounges, a magnificent sub-tropical garden and two large swimming pools for adults and one with a slide for the children. There is a tennis court, mini golf, petanque, children’s playground, hairdressing salon, two bars, a main dining room with show cooking and a pool bar in the garden, for lunch. Free wireless internet access in the entrance hall area only (around the Piano Bar).

Note: Please bear in mind that to attend lunch and dinner at any Spanish hotel you are not allowed to wear shorts.

Rates per Person per Day

• Infants under 2 years (in a cot), sharing a room with 2 adults are free of charge.
• Children of 2-10 years receive a reduction of 50% when sharing a room with 2 adults. (Maximum occupancy 3 adults and 1 child up to 10 years per room, or 3 adults and baby in a cot).

Reservations

To make the reservations, please fill in the corresponding Hotel Reservation Form and send it directly to the LOC, specifying the name of the participant you wish to share with (if applicable) before October 3^rd, 2008. If you wish to share a double room but do not have a roommate, just specify and we will try to arrange suitable company for you. We strongly encourage you to send the form as soon as your travel schedule is settled.

Important notice: The hotel will request you to pay the total amount of your stay upon arrival. Lunch/dinner does not include the price of drinks (5 € per person and service) which must be ordered separately and will be charged to your room account. When you check-out, you must settle all additional costs, which may include the drinks you have ordered with the meals or at the bar, telephone calls, and other costs.

Do not attempt to make an on-line reservation directly through the hotel's homepage. This on-line service is not able to deal with our block reservation for the period October 31^st to November 10^th. The only way to get a reservation during that period and at the prices negotiated by the LOC is by submitting the Hotel Reservation Form.

Cancellations

If you have to cancel your reservation, please contact the LOC prior to October 27^th, and no charges will apply.
