The Sun as a Magnetic Star: on the Manifestation of Different Surface Structures in Disk-Integrated Observations
M.L.Demidov

Abstract

Among cosmic objects with magnetic fields the Sun is plying a unique role for testing of solar-type stars observations. The aim of this study is to show what kind of information about properties of global and local magnetic fields of the Sun could be obtained from comparison of integrated and spatially-resolved observations. The results concerning the changes of solar mean magnetic field (SMMF) with activity cycle, differential rotation, sector structure are briefly discussed. The main attention is dedicated to the issue of manifestation in SMMF observations of the weak and strong components. To do that the high-precision Stokes-meter observations in many spectral lines are used. The results of theoretical interpretation are presented.
