We present the results of a new magnetic field survey for Herbig Ae/ Be and A debris disk stars spanning ages from 0.7 to 20 Myr with FORS\,1 at the VLT. The magnetic field strength is compared with other stellar properties including optical photometric variability, accretion rate, FUV indicators of stellar activity, X-ray luminosity, stellar rotation, and age.
