November, 21 - STUDENTS AT WORK!

Prof. Åke Nordlund and the students during the afternoon hands-on session on the Dispatch code.

July, 31 - WARNING!

We have detected scam activity of some companies trying to sell accommodation services to the applicants of the winter school. Apparently, they have been collecting information on the applicants from the preliminary list of participants that was made public on this web site. The only information that was public were the name of the participants and their affiliation. We ask the participants to report of any similar cases to the organisers of the school.

We remind the participants that the Institute for Astrophysics of the Canary Islands and the University of La Laguna are the only organisers of the school, and all correspondence with the participants is through the email address of the school.

From their email address, we identified these companies as responsible for the scam (they have the same address):

BTM, Business Travel Management, Hans-sachs-strasse 6, 42281 Wuppertal, Germany
email: ops[at]btravelmanagement.com

Expo Hotel Services, Hans-sachs-strasse 6, 42281 Wuppertal, Germany
email: support[at]ehotelservices.org

On July 30 we have informed the Spanish police.
