Old main-sequence turnoff photometry of isolated Local Group dwarf galaxies: first results from an ACS large program

Abstract

We will present the first results from an ACS large program through which we are obtaining old-main sequence turnoff photometry (V=28-29) of a sample of Local Group dwarf galaxies (LGS3, IC1613, LeoA, Tucana and Cetus). These data are allowing us, for the first time, to determine complete and accurate star formation histories for these galaxies, and to obtain a census of their variable star population.
