Abstract details

We use the method of population pixel fitting to retrieve the age and metallicity of Galactic globular clusters. This method consists in fitting an observed medium-resolution spectrum to a model SSP whose free parameters are the age the metallicity and the LOSVD. The results, when using Pegase.HR SSPs with the stellar library ELODIE.3.1, are in excellent agreement with the classical methods used for star resolved populations. The precision on age seems essentially limited by the horizontal branch morphology and to some extend by the contamination by field stars on the line of sight.
