The star formation history of the dwarf irregular galaxy SagDIG
E. V. Held, Y. Momany, et al.

Abstract
We present a spatially resolved reconstruction of the star formation history of SagDIG, a lively star-forming dwarf galaxy at the egde of the Local Group. Synthetic color-magnitude diagrams are obtained in the intrinsic ACS filter system and compared with our HST/ACS observations to derive star-formation rates across the galaxy at different epochs. The star formation history in the last 0.7 Gyr is obtained from a well defined sequence of blue helium-burning stars, while the old stellar population is quantitatively estimated by modeling the red HB detected by Momany et al. (2005). Constraints on the chemical enrichment history are also obtained through modeling of the color-magnitude diagram.
