The Integrated Spectral Energy Distributions of Open Clusters
Y. Xin, L. C. Deng & Z. W. Han

Abstract
A sample of 83 Galactic open clusters of ages of 0.1-10 Gyr is studied to measure the contributions of blue straggler stars (BSs) to the theoretical simple stellar population (SSP) model which is conventionally built based on the single star evolution theory. As a result, the integrated properties of the theoretical SSPs represented by the selected clusters are significantly modified by the BS components. It is also shown in this work that severe uncertainties can be induced in the basic parameters of stellar populations at unresolved conditions by fitting the spectrum using directly the classical SSP model.
