Probing stellar populations in the outskirts of NGC 4244

We present the first results of a wide-field photometric
survey of the nearby edge-on system NGC 4244 carried out with
Suprime-Cam on Subaru.
We will discuss the spatial distribution and nature of
resolved stellar populations at large radius in the disk
and above the plane, and assess evidence for a thick disk and/or
stellar halo in this system.
