Hunting for over-dense region of SMGs
Abstract
Distant proto-clusters of galaxies, prior to virialisation, remain a mysterious phase of structure and galaxy formation, supposedly involving loosely bound dark matter halos in the densest filaments of the cosmic web – the formative backbone of our Universe. The resolving power of ALMA led to the discovery of SMG proto-clusters cores, e.g. in the Distant Red Core (DRC) at z = 4.0 and in SPT2349−56 at z = 4.3.
However, we still do not know their possible evolutionary path and volume density. In this poster, we demonstrate that ALMACAL as blind survey, free from cosmic variance, could be an promising survey to answer this questions.
