Low accretion mode or dusty star formation? The case of the composite galaxy IRAS 01072+4954
Abstract
Starburst/Seyfer composite galaxies are enigmatic objects that are dominated by starburst features in the visible, while their X-ray luminosities are typical of those of Seyfert galaxies. Their 2-10 keV spectra show only little extinction and it is unclear how their intense X-ray emission can be reconciled with weak or absent Seyfert characteristics at visible wavelengths. We present the first results of the analysis of laser-guided NIR imaging spectroscopy of the composite galaxy IRAS 01072+4954.
