The nuclear environment of the closest Seyfert II galaxies
Abstract
We present priliminary results of SINFONI near-infrared integral field spectroscopy of the central hundreds of pc of several z < 0.01 Seyfert 2 galaxies. Detailed information on the circumnuclear environment allow us to separate the stellar and AGN components and to analyze the role of feedback mechanisms in Seyfert 2 galaxies. This study aims at collecting important facts about the starburst-AGN connection in nearby Seyfert galaxies on the < 50 pc scale in terms of excitation conditions, extinction, black hole mass, stellar content, and dynamics.
The observations will be carried out in August 2009.
