The Galactic centre in the mm-regime: Observations with CARMA
Abstract
We report the results of continuum observations of Sgr A* in the 3- and 1-mm regime with the CARMA mm array. We present high resolution 3 mm and 1mm maps of the galactic centre region and the minispiral associated with it from observations with the local mm-array CARMA. We calculate the spectral indices of individual features in the region and compare it to results from mid infrared ISAAC and VLT NACO images and previously published radio maps.
We also report a successful, simultaneous observation and modelling of the mm to NIR flare emission of Sgr A* from a global coordinated multiwavelength campaign in May 2007. We present light curves obtained for this period and describe the flaring activity of Sgr A* in the NIR and mm-regimes with an adiabatic expansion of source components.
