Meeting venue

The workshop will take place at the hotel La Palma & Teneguía Princess in Fuencaliente, La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain, on April 7-11, 2025.

 

 

The hotel offers double rooms for "single use" and "double use" including accomodation with all-inclusive which means that breakfast, lunch, dinner with drinks are included :

- Accommodation all-inclusive (single occupancy): 76,00 Euro per night 

- Accommodation all-inclusive (double occupancy) : 94,00 Euro per night

 

The booking period at this price is from 7-11 April 2025 but in principle the participants can extend their stay before and/or after the workshop.

 

The hotel is on the coast, relatively far from the closest town, Fuencaliente, and therefore, far from the closest restaurants, shops, etc, but there is a shop and several restaurants within the hotel. 

 

Registration instructions

We will book the hotel room for all participants. You will need to provide the required information in the "Registration" section, in the online-registration form . Note that all the answers in this questionnaire will not appear in the list of participants once you have register, but just your name and affiliation. 

In the online-registration form , you will be requested the following information:

- Identification and Institution: 

Necessary also for fee payment requirements.

- Room type (single / double / None): 

Type of room you will need. If you have a partner registered in the meeting, mention it in the comments.

- Day check-in / day check-out: 

Day of arrival at the hotel and day of departure from the hotel. 

- Accompanying person (Yes / No):

If you are coming with an accompanying person that will not register to the meeting, please let us know it . In case your accompanying person would like to join any of the trips you can indicate it in the comments box (Subject to availability during the event). If you already have a registered roommate or are interested in finding one, please select "no" and include this information in the comments box.

- Bus service from/to the airport (Yes / No):

- Title of your oral/poster presentation, and abstract:

Please, provide a title for your oral/poster presentation, otherwise just give "None". The SOC will evaluate the proposals and announce the results before the fee payment date. Poster presentations will be included as brief recordings that will be played on screen during breaks. 

- Volcano trip (Yes/No): 

If you plan to attend the trip to the volcano on Tuesday 8, please, let us also know it. See details below. This trip is included in the fee. 

- Observatory trip (Yes/No): 

If you plan to attend the trip to the observatory on Saturday 12, please, let us also know.  See details below. If selected yes, this will be included in the fee. 

- Charco Azul/ Tilos hiking trip: 

If you plan to attend the either of the simultaneous trips, one to he Charco Azul pool, and another to Los Tilos hiking trip on Friday 11, please, let us also know it as these trips are not included in the fee and have a cost of 20 Euro per person.

- Menu choice for congress dinner on Thursday 10 (meat, fish, vegetarian, none):

Please, indicate the choice of your menu of the dinner.

- Comments

Please, indicate any other issue you considered relevant, such as food allergies, requirements of visa, interest in childcare service, companion, etc, for you and your accompanying person. Indicate also if you are interested in sharing a room but have not yet arranged a roommate. In case your accompanying person would like to join any of the trips please indicate it here (Subject to availability during the event).

Maximum number of participants

The conference room allow us for a maximum number of 90 participants. Taking into account the large number of people who showed interest in participating in the MUNICHEFEST2025 (as illustrated by outcome of the pre-registration form which was activated between 10 and 31st of June 2024), we envisage that we might not be able to accept all registered participants.

Therefore, we kindly ask all registered participants to wait until 15 December 2024, when the awarded contributed talks will be communicated, to start organizing their trip and proceed with the payment of the registration fee.

Workshop fee payment 

There will be a workshop fee of 250 Euro to cover the organization and logistics of the workshop, this also includes: the social meeting dinner, a guided trip to the Tajogaite volcano, and a Bus service for the arrival on Sunday to the hotel. There will be an extra 30 Euro of registration fee for those who choose to join the (optional) trip to ORM on Saturday 12th April. The payments will be managed by the company Evento7 . The participants should be registered in the workshop using the online-registration form before persuing the payment of the registration fee. Once you have registered, you will be contacted directly by Evento7 to pay the registration fee by the following email contact:  Mila. The company automatically generates a pro forma invoice. Then, the payment can be done by bank transfer or via credit card. Because of organization constraints, we cannot offer refunds in the event of cancellation.

Hotel payment 

The hotel payment will be made through the hotel's payment platform with a link provided by Evento7. Payment can be made from the moment the fee payment is confirmed by the Evento7 agency, and up to 4 days before the reservation date. However, to ensure availability, we recommend doing the payment as soon as possible. More detailed information and advises will be given in due time.

Social dinner

The social dinner will be on Wednesday 9 April, 2025 at  20:00. The social dinner will be held in the restaurant Jardín de la Sal in the "Salinas de Fuencaliente" at the southernmost point of La Palma, including a brief visit and a cocktail during sunset. We will take the bus to go to the restaurant at 18:30 at the hotel entrance. We assume all participants will join the social dinner, and is included in the fee. Please, indicate in the online-registration form your choice for the menu of the dinner. The attendance of accompanying persons will be subject to availability during the event.

 

Getting to La Palma (flight information)

There is an  international airport in La Palma, which connects very well the island of La Palma with Madrid in about 2.5 hours and Barcelona in about 3 hours. La Palma Airport offers numerous inter-island flights from Tenerife and Gran Canaria, primarily operated by the Canary airline Binter. These are propeller plane flights that offer great flexibility for a short local flight.

Getting to the Hotel La Palma & Teneguía Princess in Fuencaliente

Chartered BUS ("Guagua") From La Palma Airport (SPC)

Two chartered buses will transport meeting attendees from the airport to the hotel on Sunday 6 April, 2025. Departure times and pick-up locations will be provided later, but initially, one bus could depart close to 14:30 and the other as late as possible to accommodate the maximum number of people. Accompanying persons are encouraged to use this transport as well. 

Local transport from La Palma Airport (SPC)

The hotel La Palma & Teneguía Princess  can be reached by taxi from La Palma airport in about 40 min. The cost is about 50 Euros per trip. This is the easiest way to get to Fuencaliente. Alternatively, there are frequent buses ("guaguas")  from the airport to Fuencaliente (Line 200).

Car Rental

There are several car rental services available on the island, with airport pickup options. CICAR, a local company, offers a good selection with excellent coverage. The hotel provides paid on-site parking, and there are some free parking spots across from the entrance of the hotel.

 

Trip to theTajogaite Volcano

On Tuesday 8 April, 2025, we will visit the Tajogaite (Cumbre Vieja) volcano in El Paso, in the western part of La Palma. The trip is expected to start after the afternoon session at 15:00 at the hotel entrance and finish at about 19:30 back to the hotel. The hiking journey takes approximately two and a half hours. This trip is included in the fee. The attendance of accompanying persons will be subject to availability during the event.

 

Trip to Charco Azul / Tilos hiking path

On Friday April 11, 2025, there will the possibility to visit either the  Charco Azul pool, or  Los Tilos natural path in the north part of the La Palma. These trips are not included in the fee, and we kindly ask you to inform us as soon as possible to establish the feasibility of this trip. Either trip will have a cost of 20 Euro that would be collected by Evento7. The trip is expected to start at 15:20 at the hotel entrance and finish at about 20:00 back to the hotel. For participants that want to flight back from La Palma the same evening Friday July 11, there will be the possibility to carry the baggage in the bus and to stop at Santa Cruz in the way forward from the hotel to the north at about 16:15. More instructions will be provided.

 

Trip to the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos

On Saturday 12 April, 2025, we will visit the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos . We will be able to visit the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC), William Herschel Telescope, and the relatively new Visitor's Centre for a cocktail-lunch. The trip is expected to start at 09:00 at the hotel entrance and finish at about 19:00 back to the hotel. Included in the fee of those who select to attend. For participants that want to flight back from La Palma the same day Saturday 12 April, there will be the possibility to carry the baggage in the bus from the morning and to stop at Santa Cruz in the way forward and the way back to the hotel from the ORM at about 10:00 and 18:00. More instructions will be provided soon, and again the attendance of accompanying persons will be subject to availability during the event.

Electronic posters and pitch-talks

The poster presentation system will feature poster and/or brief pre-recorded talks of up to 2 min that will be posted in the conference webpage and cyclically display during breaks.

Childcare

During the event, the hotel could offer childcare services as well as the Mini club and mini disco for children ages 4 to 12. Please contact the hotel directly to arrange rates and check availability.
