Social Events

 

Two social events are planned

  • 19th of June, evening: Conference dinner
  • 20th of June, half day: Visit at Teide Observatory close to the CTA-North site, and tour of Mt. Teide National Park. Teide volcano is the Spanish highest peak (3.718 m) and the highest peak in the Atlantic Ocean with a height of 7500 m above the ocean floor.

 

Conference dinner

The dinner will be held in the main restaurant of Hotel Vallemar, starting at 21hr. Participants can choose a main course of meat, fish or vegetarian indicating your preference in the registration form.

Visit to Teide Observatory and Teide National Park

 

Itinerary

  • 12:30hr.  Departure by bus from the hotel. Trip to Teide Park via La Orotava road.
  • 13:30hr.  Arrival at El Portillo Visitors Centre. From here, accompanied by at least one interpreter guide. Tour of the Center and Botanical Gardens Annex.
  • 14:45hr.  Visit the Park, using the group's transportation and highway. Stop in a viewpoint.
  • 15:15hr.  Stop at viepoint  La Roulette - Roques de Garcia. Small walking tour.
  • 16:15hr.  Return to El Portillo.
  • 16:30hr.  Transfer to Izaña Observatory close to the CTA-North site.
  • 16:45hr.  Visit to Teide Observatory and tour within the Anisotropy of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) experiments including the QUIJOTE CMB
  • 17:45hr.  Return to Puerto de la Cruz.


A pick-nick box will we given to each participant including:

  • 1 baguette of ham cellar with tomato or 1 vegetarian baguette
  • 3 pieces of fruit
  • 1 bottle of water
  • 1 pastry
     

Social events are included in the registration fee.
