Tenerife has two airports, one in the north (code TFN, official name "Aeropuerto Tenerife Norte – Los Rodeos") and the other in the south (code TFS, official name "Aeropuerto Tenerife Sur – Reina Sofia"). The closest airport to the venue (20min drive) is the northern aiport.

Meeting venue

The venue will take place at the IACTec building, the headquarters of the technological and business collaboration space set up by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias  (IAC).

The lecture hall is located at a distance of about 3 km from the city centre of  San Cristóbal de La Laguna  (usually just called 'La Laguna') and is about a 1 km from the headquarters of the IAC. The venue is 5 km away from the island's capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Parking space is limited around the venue so we recommend to use public transport.

By public transport

The tram is most convenient for transport. It connects La Laguna and Santa Cruz and runs every 5 - 10 minutes in the mornings. Reaching the venue takes 10 minutes from La Laguna, and approximately 30 minutes from Santa Cruz downtown. 

Additionally, Titsa  buses connect all the other cities and villages of Tenerife. The closest bus stops are from the bus 014 (connecting Santa Cruz and La Laguna). 

We recommend you to buy your tickets through the app ten+movil . Once installed and registered, it allows one to add money to a virtual wallet by credit card or by buying credit at ticket machines. It offers 20% discount on tram and bus tickets. You also buy the tickets in the vending machines available in all the stops validating them as you get in the tram.

Walking

The venue can also be reached on foot from the center of La Laguna city, but it would take around 40 minutes. Walking from Santa Cruz to the venue can take a very long time and is not recommended.
