Registration instructions
The school is primarily intended for doctoral students and recent postdocs in any field of research in Astronomy. Those interested in attending the Winter School should register using the online form below. Once registered, please log in to your personal area and introduce your Curriculum Vitae and (optionally) information on your contributed poster. In addition, we request a letter of reference from your thesis advisor (or Head of Department) by email to the Winter School Secretariat. All information should be submitted to the IAC before June 17th. Selected candidates will be informed by mid-July and instructions on how to proceed with the payment of the registration fee will then be sent.
Attendance requires a registration fee, which covers:
- Welcome cocktail
- Morning and afternoon coffee during the lecture days
- Conference dinner
- Visit to the Teide observatory, Tenerife, on November 7th
- Visit to the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory, on November 10th
The basic registration fee is 400€ (including a 50€ contribution to the elevated cost of the excursion to La Palma).
A day trip to the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (La Palma) will be organized on Saturday November 10th. The trip includes the return flight from Tenerife to La Palma, transfers, lunch and a guided tour of the principal telescopes. Given the elevated cost of this excursion, and to avoid no-shows, 50€ will be paid specifically towards this cost. It is a full day trip, so we are not expected to be back in Tenerife until 20:30 or so.
A limited number of grants may be provided by the organization to cover accommodation (double room - breakfast included - shared with another participant). Those applicants requiring accomodation grants may fill in the corresponding form in the personal area once registered. The selected participants will be informed by mid-July.
