Linking the quiet photosphere and chromosphere with small magnetic loops

Abstract

The short lifetime and the very small size of quiet Sun magnetic flux concentrations were supposed to limit their influence on higher layers. We present empirical evidences of small-scale emerging magnetic loops that appear in the photosphere and rise up to the chromosphere. We will show some hints about the nature of these magnetic fields, its interaction with the granular motions, and we will discuss about its possible role on chromospheric heating.
