Photospheric and coronal signatures of flux emergence
Abstract
Observations of an emerging twisted flux tube show two dominant
polarities with magnetic tails stretching away from them. The
evolution of these tails is compared with the simulation results of a
twisted flux. The simulations show the formation of a flux rope, above
the tube axis, that can fully erupt depending on the form of the
ambient coronal field.
