Measurement of photospheric horizontal motions in filament footpoints: comparison between different techniques
Abstract
The Local Correlation Tracking and the Differential Affine Velocity Estimator have been applied to measure the horizontal motions of magnetic structures and to determine the magnetic helicity injection rate at the photospheric level in the areas corresponding to active filament footpoints.
A comparison between the results obtained with these techniques will be shown and the role of the helicity transport in filament activation will be discussed.
