Momentum exchange between distant points of solar surface

Abstract

A large part of existing work on coronal heating and flux emergence is based on assuming that the solar surface reflects waves, i.e., neglecting feedback of the atmosphere on surface dynamics.
In this way, distant points on the solar surface, even connected by a magnetic loop, cannot exchange momentum.
This allows easy energy accumulation of magnetic energy via photospheric movements.
However, this is not correct.
In a previous work, we have shown that transverse movements do propagate between connected loop foot-points, leading to effective momentum exchange between distant points of the solar surface.
Here, we extend this work by considering as well the feedback of layers below the solar surface.
