Effects of rotation and overshoot on the modelling of Beta Cephei stars
J. P. Marques, M.-J. Goupil

Abstract

Rotation can have important effects on stellar evolution, especially by inducing turbulent mixing in stable regions. In addition, rotation affects the pulsation characteristics themselves.
We model these effects using the formalism of Zahn (1992) to calculate the evolution of the rotation profile and the prescription of Mathis et al. (2005) for the turbulent mixing. Frequencies are calculated using a non-perturbative 2-D method of Ouazzani et al.We compare the effects of rotation and instantaneous and diffusive overshoot.
Finally, we apply these techniques to study of the $\beta$ Cephei stars $\theta$ Oph and 12 Lac.
