We intend to use stellar pulsations to address fundamental questions related to the origin and evolution of stellar magnetic fields and their link to stellar evolution by studying the active giant star EK Eri: a slow rotator that yet possesses a strong magnetic field. Although evidence of pulsations has been claimed for this star, the amplitudes seem to be significantly lower than expected but previous observations were very limited in time length.
In this talk we will show the first results obtained from a 10 days campaign with SONG to extract the frequency of maximum oscillation power and a global oscillation amplitude. We finally discuss these results in the light of previous analyses and of amplitudes obtained from scaling predictions.
