WS (preliminary) program
The WS will take place over 10 working days, including a free weekend in between, with an optional trip to the ORM on Saturday.
The school will comprise a total of 44 hours of lectures, tutorials, and hands-on sessions. A few additional 1h slots will be reserved for poster persentations by the students and informal meetings between the studends and the lectureres (and early-career researchers) to talk about future perspectives in the field (both from a scientific, profesional and personal point of view).
The programme is designed to offer a balanced and coherent blend of theoretical foundations, observational perspectives, and practical training, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of massive-star research. Participants will follow a logical sequence that traces the full life cycle of massive stars – from birth to their explosive endpoints as CCSNe and compact objects – while gaining experience with the observational and computational tools currently driving the field.
The proposed structure will ensure that participants not only acquire a robust theoretical understanding but also develop practical skills in state-of-the-art modeling and data analysis techniques. Dedicated discussion periods and interactive sessions will be integrated throughout, encouraging active learning, collaboration, and direct engagement between students and lecturers.
In addition to the scientific program, the schedule includes networking activities, a guided visit to the Izaña and ORM observatories, and structured time for informal interactions among participants and lecturers. These activities are key to fostering long-term collaborations within the international massive-star community and promoting the exchange of ideas across different subfields of astrophysics.
