The meeting takes place from early Monday, June 21st 1999, to late afternoon on Tuesday June 29th 1999.
 

    The city of La Laguna is the ancient capital of the Canaries. Founded in 1496 just after the conquest of Tenerife. It is a National Monument and has been appointed to the UNESCO as a Humankind Patrimony. The city is still the home to the University, the oldest of the Canaries with 200 years of history. It is located at 600 m above sea level in the middle of a fertile valley surrounded by mountains.

The conference will take place in the "Salón de Actos" (Conference Hall) of the "Museo de la Ciencia y el Cosmos" of the Cabildo (Council) de Tenerife, located opposite the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias. The conference hall holds up to 150 persons, which will determine in principle the upper limit of participants. The poster area will be in an adjacent exhibition hall.
