Some properties of nearby galaxy clusters

Abstract

Muenster Red Sky Survey (MRSS) is a catalogue of galaxies based on scans of 217 ESO plates in the region covering about 5000 square degrees. From MRSS structures were extracted using Voronoi tessellation, which gives statistically uniform PF catalogue, containing 8166 nearby objects, having more than 10 objects.
At the present stage of investigation the results are:
1. the shape of structures projected on the celestial sphere is different for rich and poor structures;
2. weak recent dynamical evolution of galaxy clusters is observed;
3. the position angles of the brightest galaxies tend to be aligned with the parent cluster major axis only in the case of BM type I clusters, i.e. for cD galaxies.
